Corning Completes Acquisition of Plaslab S.A.S.
CORNING, N.Y. — Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) announced today that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of all outstanding shares of Plaslab S.A.S. from certain investment funds managed by Qualium Investissement and from the other shareholders of Plaslab. Plaslab is the holding company of Plastiques Gosselin.

One year ago, Gosselin made the decision to cross the English Channel in order to be closer to its northern European end users and business partners. East Lancashire was an ideal location for Gosselin to establish its UK manufacturing facility partly because of direct access to its UK customers and partly because of the availability of an experienced local workforce. The new plant is a consistent step in the international development strategy of Gosselin. Following the USA (sales office, 2009) the UK was Gosselin’s next target because of its importance as Gosselin’s largest export market. |
