The moulding by injection is a discontinuous process composed of different steps named run. The productivity is determined by the length of the run opposite to the extrusion technology determined by the size of the flow.


The opening and the closing of the mould is made thanks to an hydraulic or combined (hydraulic +electric) system. This system is able to maintain the mould closed. Strong pressure allows the mould opening step. The melted raw materials is injected  in the mould with a pre-defined pressure. This pressure depend on the geometry and the viscosity of the raw material in the injection part of the mould.




After filling the mould, the moulded item have to be refresh. The refreshing timing depends of the size of the product.


The injection technology is used in the manufacturing of closures, containers, tubes, petri dishes.
